Last week the AHLA Eboard attended the IGLTA Convention in St. Petersburg, FL. They are so thankful for all the amazing connections and for STHM instilling hard work and a drive to be successful #IGLTA #thesthmexperience#templemade The experience and networking that the Executive Board received at the event made all the fundraising efforts worth while. Through various sponsors and fundraising, they were able to attend the conference almost free of charge. They were accompanied by two STHM professors, Dr. Blair and Professor Sheridan, who were very generous in giving their time to help make this experience possible.

Ted Clair is a junior STHM student. He is the co- chair Finance, Membership, and Internal Outreach for AHLA. This is a picture if Ted on his summer vacation. This summer his family rented a boat for 10 days and sailed around the British Virgin Isles all by themselves. They went to a different island everyday: snorkeling, taking hikes, and checking out different beach bars. His favorite spot was a tiny little island called Sandy Spit where they filmed the Corona "Life's a Beach" commercial. Ted has a great love for the islands and the Caribbean. His trips with his family have fostered his love for travel and his interest in Tourism and Hospitality. His dream job would be to work one day in the tourism or hospitality industry in the Virgin Islands and provide other peoples families with the same great experiences. #bvi #ahlatemple#eboard
Maddie Farrell is a junior STHM student. She is the Marketing and PR Chair for AHLA. Maddie recently studied abroad in Rome, Italy. She loved getting to travel to many places around Europe and experience an array of cultures. This is Maddie in Budapest durning Spring Break! Budapest was one of her favorite places she traveled to. The Hungarian culture is so different than any other place she had traveled. Surprisingly, it was some of the best food and hospitality she experienced. The people were very welcoming! Maddie hopes to be able to travel to more of Europe in the years to come!
Michael Miller is a sophomore STHM student. He is the External Outreach Coordinator for AHLA. This is a picture of Michael on a service trip to the Dominican Republic this past spring break. He stayed in the small village of El Cidral where he was immersed in the community and culture. It was a humbling experience where he learned about himself and others through service work Andrea community engagement. This trip has inspired him to travel more and go further outside of his comfort zone. His next trip will be to Costa Rica in the Spring. #dominicanrepublic #eboard #ahlatemple
